Breast Reduction Surgery
Breast Reduction is a procedure designed to lift, reposition and reduce the volume of the breasts on the chest wall.
Large breasts are associated with a number of symptoms such as backache, neck ache, grooves on the shoulders from a bra, etc. Contrary to popular belief, not every lady enjoys having large breasts and they can interfere with clothing, the pursuit of sport and self confidence.
There are a number of methods of breast reduction but in the most common, an incision is made around the nipple and vertically below it, and along the breast fold. This allows the breast tissue to be lifted, volume removed, and reshaped.
After the operation your breasts will initially be slightly uncomfortable but should not be too painful – this operation can sometimes be performed as a day case. More often, you will be discharged the next day after removal of your drains.
