Earlobes that have been split by earrings can be corrected with a relatively simple procedure, carried out under Local Anaesthetic – ie you are awake for the procedure. The procedure usually takes place in the outpatient department but not normally on the same day as your consultation.

After the surgery you will have dissolving sutures and ointment to apply. The biggest risk of the surgery is that the shape of the earlobe after the operation might not be perfect, or that as the scar contracts, the shape changes. As a rule, however, patients are very happy with this procedure and the satisfaction rate is very high.
